visit to Besançon - admiring Vauban
What can I say - last year I had the pleasure to visit Briançon and did "out" myself as an admirer of Vauban and all his fortifications (having one right at my doorsteps in Antibes). No wonder that the day had to come where I would pay tribute to this great architect in Besançon as well. Besançon's Citadelle is to be said to be one of the most beautiful of France... Well - take in some of the photos I was able to take... Enjoy.
And of course - don't get me wrong: while being in Besançon I did visit Victor Hugo's birthplace; but that's another story for a later time...
