trip to the French Alps

After a private concert in Zurich where I met many of my longtime colleagues and friends I took the time to drive back to Antibes via Briançon and the Col de la Bonette. Always fascinated by Vauban's fortifications which also can be found close to my home town Freudenstadt and of course all over France Briançon surely is a highlight. The wonderful panormamic views of the French Alps motivated me to take the route via one of the highest passes in the alps: the Col de la Bonette at an altitude of 2715 meters - the road that leads around the Cime de la Bonette even reaches 2800 meters while the summit is 2862 meters. Quite an experience I would like to share via some photos. Enjoy.
