MSA - Music Academy in Meersburg
In 2015 I have had the pleasure to participate as a soloist at the MSA for the first time - a summer academy for teachers from all schools of my home state of Baden-Württemberg. Professional musicians lead the different orchestra groups (such as strings, woodwinds or brass), there is a choir formed out of teachers and students and everybody gets together in a beautiful seeting at the Lake of Constance. Rehearsals take place in the old "teacher's seminary" - right on top of the vineyards of the lake. Today a school (with boarding school) it stands empty in the summer and is used by the MSA for the last three decades. A beautiful idea with wonderful results - after 2015 and Carmina Burana this year there was one of my favourite oratorios on the programme: Elijah by Mendelssohn. The concert with me singing Elijah once again took place on September 2 in St. Francis of beautiful Überlingen and was a wonderful experience and success for everybody. - Great to be together with people and friends meeting just for the sheer joy and pleasure of making music together!
